What is an end-of-life Doula?
End-of-life Doula’s are trained non-medical professionals who provide emotional, physical, and educational support for someone nearing death.
What do I do?
I am a concierge of sorts for the dying; or a mentor for the final chapter in life. I hold sacred space for the dying through all stages of their journey. I facilitate end-of-life planning and help navigate through the fears, questions, and concerns that come with end of life.
In my role, I provide education and an assortment of tools to help so loved ones are not surprised by the changes to the dying and how they can continue to support them the best. I can create a vigil plan and hold vigil which includes the input from the dying in how they would like to see their final days and hours.
I promote a very direct engagement with the active dying process by providing comfort, spiritual companionship while anticipating the needs and wants of the dying and their loved ones as they move forward in their journey. I am a safe and loving space for the dying and their loved ones.
What don’t I do?
-I am a non-medical professional. I do not do medical procedures/recommendations/medications or vitamins.
-I am not an Advisor. I do not provide legal advice.
-I am not a Care aide. I do not deal with fluids or moving.
-I do not place my personal life into their journey.
-I cannot fix the dying I do not have all the answers. I am here to be of service.
I am a genie with a magical lamp granting a tailormade dying experience that is unique to you and your loved ones. I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
